Equipment, in the official definition, is “tools, devices and products that support a disabled person’s functioning, independence, safety, or participation in daily life”. Things you buy and keep.

A service is a person doing something with you or for you. Support work, a setup session, help in your home.

The difference matters because the rules are different. Equipment needs prior approval from your host. Services under the approval limit do not.

General information about the funding system, not advice about your specific situation. Your host is the right place for that.

More complicated than a general answer?

Talk it through with a person.
